How to record from 6131 to External drive? Manuals have no info on this

I just got my Bell TV service along with 6131. Have not hooked up my WD 500 yet. Manual does not even refer to the possibility of using 6131 as a PVR.

Can anyone help? I am aware that once I hook up the drive, it would be recognized, but how does one record a show?

? Press the record button on the remote????

Or select a up coming event on the guide and press select, a new menu will pop up giving you various recording options.
 
barter is correct in that new menus will appear after you connect and have the hard drive recognized. The record with VCR option disappears and PVR will take the place of it. It's pretty straight forward.
 
Bell has this fairly well documented on their website. It was the first hit when I typed 6131 EHD into their search engine.
