Description of enlightenment. Many people "claim" to have reached enlightenment. But if they have truly reached it, we would know that they would show no fears, anxiety, anger, sadness, or even pain. Their right amygdala has been literally destroyed and the left amygdala is under the enlightened command. This is TRUE enlightenment and very few humans have ever reached it.
How to get this: It seems that the Buddha neglected everything. Even the basic necessities until he has achieved his goal. He neglected food, water, shelter, human contact, and even himself. His ego was completely destroyed (that is the final thing to destroy).
If this is the case, then the only way to reach enlightenment and be entitled to the powers it holds, you must give up everything and go into exile and meditate for who knows how long. That means no more working to sustain yourself until you are finished with the task. This is too extreme, but Gautama said something about failure pertaining to "not starting" and "not going all the way". Therefore, only a few people in history has reached enlightenment, and the rest of us are wasting our time.
Imagine if you can achieve the powers to control your emotions. Imagine going back to work/school and having this power under your command forever. You will not be what you used to be. There is no suffering, without even trying.
Question: Am I correct or am I wrong?
You will suffer "for a time". After you complete it, it is with you permanently. You cannot suffer ever again.
