I am in the middle of a HUGE dilemma. I am considering going to college out-of-state with my girlfriend. In order for this to be financially feasible, one of a few things must occur. Either: 1) My parents and I take out about $50k of loans to pay for what part of college is not payed for by scholarships, or 2) I will have to work 1-2 jobs in addition to college in order to pay for tuition, groceries, and rent in the apartment we will be living in (her mom will be paying for most of the rent and groceries). My question, then, is this: is there any way I can possibly accomplish this without paying off student loans until middle age or a psychologists' bill to repair all the mental damage I caused myself? I love my girlfriend like nothing else in this world (we've been dating since middle school), but I am seriously considering just staying in-state. Is there any hope for us? Is there some option I am overlooking?
