My english teacher told us to read and annotate the book To Kill A Mockingbird. How do you annotate a book? I do things like this:
1. Underline similes, metaphors, personification
2. Note where things happen [like "Jem touches the Radley house" and "Jem starts acting more mature"
3. Underline where a new character or setting is described
4. Note where she uses history or a well-known book or movie.
Are there any other key things that you should write in while annotating? We just started, so the teacher won't fail us for forgetting some things, I'm only in 9th grade.
Thanks!!
