how to program a rcr312wr to a sanyo dvd?

ok so i have this SANYO DVD Player and i lost the remote so i bought a rcr312w but i have tried every method (direct code , manually, auto, etc..) and i cant program the dam rcr312w to my dvd.. and the only reason i need to do this is because when you buy a new dvd and it takes you to the DVDs Menu you need the dvd remote control to move left or right ( like arrow keys) and thats why i need a remote.. please help!!!! how do i program this dam rcr312w to my SANYO dvd.? .............( By the way i have tried using the buttons on the dvd player to move left or right and it doesnt work)
