I recently bought a 2002 Toyota Celica. It did not come with a remote, so the seller sold me one separately, unprogrammed. It came with instructions that I tried several times, but I couldn't get past the step that indicates that it entered programming mode.
I later tried looking for other instructions that might work, but they are all similar. Just different variations of it. I tried them too but still couldn't get past that step.
They all have time limits for certain steps that say do this within 5 seconds and do that within 40. Do I have to wait for that time limit to end before moving on to the next step or just keep going right after I finish the step, as long as it was within that time?
My local Toyota dealership told me that only a technician could program remotes, and for a fee of $58. I want to avoid this, but it will be my last resort if I couldn't figure out the directions.
I hope all these details make sense. Hahah. Thank you!
