I'm going to college this fall, and I'm under a huge impression that everyone around me knows so much about different software, programming, OS... When they mention Ubuntu, for example, I'm pretty clueless. I know that I'm going to learn all that in college, but I've never been clueless about anything before, nobody in my previous surrounding knew as much as I did, and now suddenly I'm the one that is completely lost. So, can anyone suggest me a book or website that can help me learn more of the programmers dictionary? Since not many girls go to that college, I don't want to be intimidated by all those guys who believe that programming and playing with computers isn't for women.
