I am enlisting in the Navy, my ship date wont be until may....
I want to know, what I can do to my diet and physical body to prepare myself for boot camp...
I am not scared of boot camp at all, just want to make sure I am ready to make it as easy as I can
Btw, I am an 18 year old petite girl. I do two hour of conditioning, two days a week, but I feel I need to increse that. . .
Thoughts of diet and excersize?
Tips for boot camp?
Tips for success in the Navy?
Please and thank you to all
WAIT!!!!
I have to know stuff about guns in the Navy???

its been a question a while.
Run at least 2-5 kilometers every morning or every other morning.
Know a lots of guns.
handguns, rifles, ammunition.
-accuracy, recoil, weight(loaded/empty), effective range, ammo speed/nozzle velocity, parts/cleaning tools
MUST KNOW HOW TO SPIT SHINE YOUR SHOES.
IS THAT UNDERSTOOOOOOOODDDDDD??????????

Guns? Yep - that is why they are called the Armed Forces!

I have to do a weapon handling test (rifle) and a shoot every year minimum.

I recommend you just up your aerobic and strength training - get a few runs in every week.

Your recruiting should be able to tell you exactly what fitness you will need.

Good luck.

live your life normal till your departure date eat good sleep good party hard bootcamp is going to be fine its all a mental game .... haha and hazing trust me I know I've been in the marines for three years parris island is a little bit more extreme and I did no training whatsoever before i departed to boot camp except play some sports when I was young but trust me you'll be fine just make sure you pick the right job. I will advise you that conditioning and exercise won't hurt though ......

you might shoot a gun once or twice but trust me they will cover that aspect

In general, work out as much a you can.
I've spoken with people from all different branches of the military and they say a vital key to making basic easier, is to be in shape.
Of course there's the whole 90% mental 10% physical, but that 10% is still a lot. People who haven't worked out before basic tell me they regret it.
I'd say do a lot of push ups, sit ups and running.
Everything else will follow.
There's a December 16th slot that my Air Force recruiter might be able to give me so I'm in the process of getting ready too.
Also, be happy that you're petite.
I've heard stories of people entering in who just barely passed the weight test, and if they can do it, you definitely can =)
That's what motivates me too lol.

~Good luck!
