A few weeks ago I got pulled over for driving my girlfriend's car with an expired registration and safety check, and no insurance. Since it was my first offense, the officer advised that I sign up for a Geico policy asap.
Got the insurance taken care of, got the car transferred under my name so registration is good, and I got the safety check handled.
My court date is in a couple days, so I'm wondering how to prepare for it and what to expect. Bring valid insurance, safety check, registration? What will the process be like (prepare something to say)? Will it take so long that I'd need to miss a class later that day? Possible fines?
