How to play video games or DVDs on my Sanyo tv? ?

I have my video games plugged into my Sanyo tv, but I can't find the channel to play them on, the same thing with my DVD player. I have the remote, it has #buttons 0-9, recall, sleep, menu, caption, vol up and down, channel up and down, mute and display. What channel do I play them on?
