How to plan the perfect nutrition for an energetic lifestyle?

I am currently in high school. I am a very active student. I am involved in many extracurricular activities such as varsity basketball, MUN, volunteer work, clubs, etc.

The problem is, i find myself burning out towards the end of school. I start to doze off, and cant concentrate. I even have problems concentrating in the morning because i don't seem to be fully awake.

When i review my diet, it looks awful. I have a very small breakfast, a small lunch, and a moderate dinner.

My question is, what foods would you recommend me eating for breakfast to provide myself with long lasting energy to last me through a whole day.

I heard eating a lot of protein for breakfast helps a lot. Oh and I exercise and workout everyday, so additional info on a good after workout meal would be nice.
