how to perfect shift a mazda rx8?

what is the best time to shift to stay in the mazda rx8 power band when racing? cause i keep getting a 7.5 seconds for my 0 - 60 time, and 17 seconds for my 1/4 mile. im decent at driving a 6 speed, but my car stock is suppose to be able to do a 1/4 mile in about 15 seconds.

You should be able to get down to about low 15s for the quarter in an RX-8

What is your clutch control like? Can you stab clutch or even change upwards without the clutch at all? Even I can get 16.8 from a Ford Ka.

Ideally the best changes should be done at the top of the torque curve. This can be mapped for every gear and you should be able to work out at what rev range it is for each gear.
After you do this, you need to both listen to the noises the engine is making and watch the tachometer.

PS: Street racing is stupid. Get a Formula Ford if you want to go racing.
