How to open videos from USB on Panasonic TH-P50V20A TV?

When I put my USB into the side pf the TV, it says "USB device detected." But when I go to the 'Videos' folder it says "No valid file to play"!
Please help!
(And try to use easy language - I'm not really technology-savvy). :)
