how to network unlock and iphone 4 with ios 5.0.1?

i've and iphone 4 which is locked with vodafone i forgot to get it unlocked b4 leaving, i bought that one in australia, now i am overseas and i am trying to use an "Airtel" sim in that mobile but its not working. it says no service
can anyone help me unlock it.
