How to manually open gas tank for 1996 Toyota Corolla?

Hi all

I have a 1996 Toyota Corolla.

Just today, I discovered that the lever to remove the gas tank cover so that I can fill gas is not opening automatically. It is stuck so is there a way to manually open it?

Please help 10 points!!!
