My cat, male, neutered, starts whining early in the morning everyday until I open the door.
The reason we close the door is because we have two cats and they run and jump and make a whole lot of noise. We have neighbors downstairs and their bedroom is right below ours. It would be rude of us to allow this to affect their sleep.
The cats have water and food and litter, but he just wants to be with me.
I love my cats, but I was told to ignore him if he meows for attention because he needs to learn that it's not effective.
But he never stops and I have to leave the room at some point. I can't stay there for hours. Once the door opens, the whining stops.
What can I do to stop the early morning whining?
