If you TV are standard LCD TV. you cant do anything to become HD 720 P or full HD 1080 P . you TV must be as last HD 720 P in order to display HD image picture. and if the TV is HD 720 P. even the Video signals is Full HD 1080 P, it will only display up to 720 P HD Pictures. ( those screen size below 40 inc, you eye will not get any difference between HD 720 P and Full HD 1080 P pictures .to you eye is the same quality ,only Technically is better ).* If you TV is HD, there must be a " HD ready " or " HD " symbol in front of the TV.and have HDMI socket at the back/side of the TV for HD digital signals in-put *.* with out that you cant make you TV become HD.no way !

If your LCD tv is HD Compliant (ie: actually is capable of displaying HD spec), and has an HD tuner and an HD signal coming into it, then you're already there.

If your LCD tv is not HD, there is nothing you can do to get a true HD signal displayed on it. An HD external tuner won't help either, as it will have to downsample the signal to display on your SD screen.
