how to make a tennis ball swing (wrap tape around half of it, take fur off

half the ball, etc.)? I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a tennis ball swing.
I have tried wrapping tape around half of the ball and that worked really well for a few balls but then the tape just started to come off.
I have also tried to take fur off half of the ball, but that is harder than it sounds and have not done this.
Any ideas of how to make tape stay on the ball, take fur off half the ball, or any other methods?
