how to lift weights for martial arts or fighting?

took some martials, krav and bjj, well schedule changes pulled me out but now im just trying to stay in shape for when im able to return, so i entered a gym, doin cardio everyday as well as some of the exersizes i did in the classes. whats the proper way i should be lifting? just getting big and builky issent good for fighting. should i just have the whole higher reps lower sets with lighter weight?

bruce lee loves lifting weight so lifter a but for fighting issent bad so dont tell me otherwise. thanks
