How to know if a pics resolution is enough for 300dpi?

When you look at the EXIF data on the file, it will show you what DPI the image was captured. Look under the data and look for:
X Resolution = 300
Y Resolution = 300

You may want to shoot some test images at different image sizes and different JPEG resolutions and see which combination supports 300 DPI

Generally if the JPEG file is larger than 3 mb, you should be just fine.
