Not to thread jack, but I hit a deer once, not that long ago. I looked down and looked up when I hit the thing, and vaguely saw it pinwheeling away in my headlights.

It scared the shit out of me, and I stopped. I thought I killed it

But then I saw it moving on the ground, thought I maimed it and was actually upset that I couldn't put it down....

Then it got up. A guy who had come walking to see if I was ok stopped dead in his tracks, primarily because he didn't want to get attacked by a confused deer.

Eventually the thing tried to run, fell over, got up, then ran off like it was nothing.

I got a cracked front plate mount, and my license plate is bent. Pics on request if you guys want them, I guess, but

GOD DAMN DUDE, horses?

In all fairness, the breed of horses that we have down here (Paso Fino)are pretty small compared to the horses most of you are probably familiar with. Still, worse than a deer... but not anywhere near as bad as a moose, or even a cow.

Actually not far from my house is a farm that breeds those little mini horses.

I can't help but think hitting one of those things, especially in my Jeep, would be a strange hybrid of tragic and hilarious

Wow that's really lucky that you didn't get hurt, too bad about your car though :(

We hit a Kangaroo the other day, it ran into the side of our car and we glanced it. We went to see if it was ok and it just got up and ran away! O_O

They're not that small dude, Hitting one in a jeep might be slightly hilarious, but hitting two in a lancer was downright terrifying.

Actually, you know what? I think my next car might have to be a Jeep.

There's got to be a better way of adding two horsepower to your ride. At least you're okay. Too bad for the horses and your car.

You never know what's going to come at you when driving at night. I haven't hit anything big but there was a scary moment for me on the NJ Turnpike. I'm in the right lane doing 65 when a wheel is rolling straight at me from the shoulder. I managed to avoid the head on collision, but it hit my rear wheel. It got kicked back towards the shoulder. It was like playing soccer on the highway. It scared the shit out me and the passenger in the back. I stopped and checked for damage. There was just a little bit, to my relief.

The only things I've killed are two rabbits and an opossum.

Whoa! That's pretty intense. It's good that you can walk away from it and it sucks about your car, but you got a helluva story out of it!
