How to keep secrets in friendships?

If you are told a secret by someone who trusts you, then keep your mouth tightly zipped! Betrayal by anyone is tough, but when it's by a someone who is supposed to be a friend, it's even worse.

I want to be a loyal and the kind of person people can confide in. Basically there are times when secrets need to be let out of the bag if the person life is endangered. Apart from that I stay away from shit stirers who like to cause beef for other people.
