I have 2 cats. A 4 year old, recently neutered male. And an unaltered male of almost 1 year.
The little one looks up at the older one like a big brother and always trys to play, the older cat doesn't seem to be into in and either ignores him or chases him.
The older one was neutered very recently, a couple of weeks ago. And he is constantly fighting with the little one. He already humped him a bunch of times and proved he's the alpha male, and the little one accepts it. But the older one insists on fighting and gets a kick out of getting him in a corner, all scared. Sometimes the older one goes crazy and basically tries to hurt the little one as much as possible. They get into serious fights and my nightmare is walking in to find one of them missing an eyeball. I have already learnt the hard way that I shouldn't physically try to separate them, but I prefer having my arm mutilated than it being someone's face.
Water doesn't help. I've tried dumping a pot of water on him and nothing. I'm pretty afraid to even go to sleep in fear that they'll start again. Separating them in different rooms isn't really an option because the older cat pees on things and the little one is copying him and thinks its cool so he does that too.
After a fight, the little one doesn't understand that he should stay away, he just runs up to the older one again and follows him.
Anyone got any suggestions? I'm sitting here all bandaged up again, looking at their poor scratched faces.
