A friend of mine has an at home soap/candle business. She is very trusting, lives alone in a small town and allows local people to stop by to purchase soaps and other items. A gentleman entered her home, purchased some items and refused to leave. After some struggle she was sexually assaulted.
This happened Sunday evening (yesterday). She came to me with this information after it the events transpired.
She is known pretty well in her community and doesn't want this leaking into the news, not even the story.
If she contacts the police, what are the chances that this news story will be published?
Is there any way for her to contact police and keep this story out of the papers and off of the news channel at the same time?

2nd, again, thank you. I advised her last night to visit the ER, I am waiting to hear back today. She has a lot going on in her family right now and doesn't want to be a burden on them. Her brother in law works for the city counsel, doesn't want her name or location to be revealed and certainly doesn't want her business name to be made public along with this story.
