How to Jailbreak my iPhone?

the iphone says it's is disabled and I need to onnect to itunes but there is a password on the ipod and I don't know it so I cannot connect to itunes. I was wondering how I could jailbreak it. It is an iphone 2g but I do not know exactly what firmware it is. Please help it is a waste of a perfectly good iphone
