we took our fujitsu siemens scaleo p pc to a computer shop as there was a virus on the pc, we couldnt even switch it on, i think it was a loop virus that stops you logging on.
Anyway when they reinstalled windows they told us they had installed the wrong sound drivers so we had to do that ourselves, they reasured us that it was easy to do and we could find the drivers online.
we have tried to resinstall the drivers, but when you go into control panel, sound and audio devices, it keeps coming up "no audio device" iv installed realtek, it says its working but not yet started? its in the task bar but when you click on its own volume control it says no active mixer, yet realtek mixer is installed, also we do not have the volume control in the task bar, you know the little speaker icon. Im not sure why it isnt working, any help?
we are running windows xp. iv tried, restarting, reinstalling, disabling and enabling, its active in BIOS, everythings normal bar what i put previously. Do i need to take it to another computer shop?
ps: we have moved and now live at least 10miles away from the computer shop we took it to, we dont have a car and it is way to heavy to carry on busses all that way. we live about 1mile away from PC world but i dont trust them. They nearly blew up my netbook with the advice they gave me.
THOMAS NOTT - iv tried that none of it has a caution symbol, thats why im confused. everything is normal bar what iv said.. help!!!
