how to install new flash player on linux?

i rele dont understand anything about computers so can you please help like by dumbing it down as much as possible thanks >.< i got how to download it up to this part it said: In terminal, navigate to this directory and type ./flashplayer-installer to run the installer. and thats the part i dont get. what is a terminal and how do i type in it and what is a directory?? sorry i totally suck with computers
