How to inhance the volume for Philips dvd player?

Check your owner's manual for the TV. I run everything through an AV receiver so I don't bother with audio settings on the TV. There may be an option in the menu settings under either audio or input that allow you to attenuate or "turn up the volume" for a given input. My AV receivers have this function. If you can't do that you might consider upgrading to a surround system with an AV receiver. Don't get an HTIB (Home Theater In a Box) system. They have severe limitations and when one part fails you can't use the remaining parts with anything else. You have a nice TV, you should have a nice sound systems to go with it.

We have Sony Bravia LCD and Philips DVD player - DVP3146. When we watch TV, we set the volume in the range of 25 - 30 and it is comfortable listening, but when we connect DVD player and play any DVD, then the volume has to be set in the range of 65 -70. (some times even higher to 85-90) Please advise on what is the cause and how to set DVD player volume? It happens with all the DVD's.
