Im looking to get a mid 60s ford mustang as a daily driver. I understand that most older mustangs get about 14mpg. Im curious, is there anyway to increase the MPG? I saw some things in Summit mags that help increase mpg by a certain percentage. I heard some people actually got there mustangs to get around 20-25 mpg. Is this even possible? If so, please tell me how I could make this happen.

Thanks!

one keep it running right ,set carb air fuel jets to sea level spec 2 full turns from soft base seated ,then check if when you pull a vacuum ,does idle raise or lower, if it raises its rich too much fuel ,screw in both 1/4 turn recheck untill no change when vac line is off (small line )out for lean when done no change will occure, second timing ,spec 8deg btdc third mechanical soundness ,the thing you speak of is a vortec air funnelizer ,inexpensive and yes they improve performance but only by 10 % good luck i had a 66 with a 289 4 speed and this wasnt a daily driver ,more like a weekend warrior
