How to identify the model and year of a Yamaha XS1100?

I believe these are all of the different models:
'78 E
'79 F, SF
'80 G, LG, SG
'81 H, LH, SH
'82 J
As far as I know, "L" indicated the Midnight Special version and "S" indicates the Special version.

Anyone know how to figure the model and year of an XS11 if the owner doesn't know?
