Not showing up 3g but 1x. I'm pretty sure my settings are sticking but how can I double check?

no dice. still showing 1x, i went over the instructions very carefully and still all i see is 1x. i know there's 3G in my area since i checked the map and there's plenty of 3g coverage out here in charlotte.

not sure if it's relevant or not but when i read the data via "QPST service programming" in the MIP tab, "active user" is set to 1 when it should be set to 0 according to the guide (not sure why that its not sticking). I do have two profiles and they are both configured with the information per the instructions. in other words, both profiles are indentical.

if anyone out there with a working hero/eris would read their settings from their phone and using QPST and save those settings and send them to me i would really appreciate it. it seems like i'm the only one in the forums that's unable to get this thing working and honestly after spending an entire day working on this, im ready to slam my hero against the wall. please PM me if you are able to do this.

Working on my hero, Im also getting 1x and no 3g and on QPST my active user is 0 so I dont think 3g has anything to do with it
 
i'm deeper in the hole since i no longer get 1x after messing with the settings in QPST. I need for someone to give me their settings.
@Zefen, if you could PM me so that we could some how go over all of my settings or maybe i could have you send me your settings via email i would really appreciate it

@token419 Great job on this, really.

I can confirm everything working on Eris and on Hero. On the eris I do get a 3G icon but on the Hero I only get the EV, I am however getting almost exact download and upload speeds so I think the hero may no show the 3g, just the EV icon instead.

Yeah Hero shows Ev for evdo while other roms have 3G for evdo speeds. Easiest way is to check the phone info and network to see what mode your in.
 
Ahh sorry, yeah as long as its saying EV or 3g or even 1x it means your web portion is up and running.

If you dont see EV or 3g or 1x it means that your web portion of the QPST settings needs to be ran again to make sure it stuck.
 
Token- Yes, positive. I'm doubtful that it was running that speed though, I didn't notice it.

Felizf- Try DamageControl v1.0 instead of the latest one, I had trouble with it also. And make sure you put the 1042 PRL and *228 for the latest.
 
how can i reset all of my QPST settings to factory default? after messing with the settings i can no longer get the ev icon :(.... anyone know how to do this?
 
@Felizf i usually read my phone and save the config before changing anything, that said, im not sure if there is a way to factory reset the phone back, you could try the factory reset in the phone options, but i dont think it changes your QPST information, though it may.

My best suggestion would be to find a Cellular store in your area and take your phone to them and see if they can follow this guide for you to enable these settings. They may have a charge associated with flashing your phone, but it may be the best option.

Also are you on a Hero or a Eris?

iv been extremely busy with work lately, but ill see what i can do to help.

ill take Screenshots of my config later for you so you can compare your settings to what i have.

Im on an Eris though, but i assume they should be the same since i followed Brandon's guide as well.
 
There is not much to change. As far as I know you cannot set to factory default. If you want default for internet just load a 1050 prl and *288 and it will download new prl and settings will default to verizon at least they do on my Eris.

QPST you need to change only MDN MIN then mobile + simple IP make sure all data places where @otherprovier.com is changed to [email protected] with password cricket. There is not many things to change. Once you have that information and you are in an area that gets 3g you will have evdo. Doing this might help you get the correct PRL in the first place.
