I have a toshiba flat screen tv, and a toshiba DVD/VCR combo, how do i set up my tv for it to record shows by using the red white and yellow plugs?
i have to press input to get to the vcr, so its just a blue screen..i can't see whats airing

I do not think that you can do it through the AV Jacks (Red, White, and Yellow Cords).

On the older VCRs you needed to run your basic cable line through the VCR, then the VCR to the TV. On the VCR there was usually a "record" button, usually a button with a red circle on it. YOu would need to set the VCR to the channel you want recorded, set you actual TV to the channel also, put in a blank tape into the VCR and press record when the program began.

That is with the old onesat leastt. I am not sure how old you VCR is but that is the way it was done with the older ones.

On another suggest, invest in a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) through your cableSatellitee provider. I have one throughVerizonn and it is amazing.

I hope this helps!!!!!

well you have to plug those plug into the tv and turn the tv to aux or whatever channel and then you have to have a blank tape to record it and when you are ready you put the blank tape and press record or on some tv s you have to press play then record

...... u dont need those wires if its all conected together.id assume conecting the cable to the vcr
