I live in a suburb right outside of boston. Over the weekend I guess a pit bull attacked a child, and the dog was shot dead. Ofcourse the owner was nowhere to be found (how irresponsible!) and now they are trying to ban the entire breed in massachusetts!
I own an APBT/boxer mix, and I know that they rank #2 for least likely to bite. I would trust her and any child with a Pit Bull more than any other breed! The owners make dogs aggressive, dogs are not born aggressive. Im getting so fed up with how ignorant people are. I breed ban would be the worst thing ever! How about instead they look into who they are allowing to breed dogs? And who exaclly are buying the dogs. I hate how some stupid thungs mess it up for the rest of us responsible dog owners!!!
I love my dog, and as a dog walker I encounter all types of breeds, and it truly is the people we should be punishing!
Any advice on how I can help stop this horrific bill!!! I want to leave Massachusets, people here are so crazy, and not smart enough to do there own research instead of listening to the dumb media!
Thanks!
To the last poster, no breed is dangerous.. I agree with the first poster that classes would be a wonderful idea. They are bred for a lot more than dog fighting, and one of the most famous dogs ever was used in WW2 to help sniff out bombs, and one of the first search and rescue dogs was a Pit Bull. Recently a Golden Retriever mauled a child, and guess what? The media didnt care. Pit Bulls are some of the most wonderful, obediant, trusting dogs around and people dont understand them. The cities should make people fix there dog so they cant be backyard breeders. That way they will know that responsible people are breeding the dogs (any dog breed) to improve the breed, not just make money. This breed should never be human aggressive anyways, they were bred to work next to humans, and if they were agressive they would be killed. Backyard breeders and bad owners are to blame. Not responsible breeders, and kennels do many tests to make sure the dog should be put of for adoption, not just any
dog can make it through the shelter and live. Stop bullying such a wonderful dog. Punish the deed, not the breed! Parents should teach there children how to approach dogs, they dont just attack unprovoced!
