We thought my 13 month old had potentially swallowed a match so we took her to the ER. We saw the nurse who took her temperature, then waited about 2 hours. Saw the doctor for all of 5 minutes who sent her for an X-ray. Then got the results and left (all was ok thank goodness)
So I get the bill for $337 (my portion after insurance). BEFORE insurance paid it was $1031. Plus $223 for the X-ray. In addition I have gotten bills from the physician and the X-ray technician totaling about $300.
I can understand the doctors bills and the X-ray bill, but seriously, $1031 for just being in the ER?? I asked for an itemized bill and that's all it says, ER. So I am wondering, is there any way to dispute this?
