How to get surround sound with xbox and Panasonic SC-BT230 Blu Ray Theatre System?

My TV has one HDMI input, and both Xbox and Blu Ray system have one output (I'm getting a switcher so I do not degrade my HDMI cable). I think my TV has an optical out but I do not know if my blu ray player has an optical in (I know it has an audio in (1 (AUX [Stereo Mini Jack, 3.5mm]) ). How do I connect everything for surround sound on xbox??
