How to get rid of ticks after camping trip?

I went on a 3 -day camping trip recently. Upon returning, I was so exhausted that I did not shower; I just fell into bed. The following day, I developed stinging sensations and bite marks, from ticks, I guess. (Our camping neighbors had been complaining of ticks but since I had never heard of ticks, I ignored them.)

I'm not sure how to get rid of them. They are probably in my mattress, bedsheet and pillows now. I can wash the sheet and pillows in hot water. What about the mattress?

when ticks bite you, they stay in your skin for a few days.

unless you notice them before they get too lodged within your skin, you just have to wait for them to fall off.

if you do notice them, make sure you pull it off by the head, so as not to leave just the head stuck in your skin, which can get infected.

the bites you got sound more like mosquito bites, but i guess they could be ticks

you might want to see your doctor because some kinds of ticks spread lyme disease

Ticks are supper annoying. What ticks actually do (don't get grossed out) is burry their little heads under your skin and suck your blood. If you just try and yank them off, you might actually pull their body off but leave their head in your skin, which isn't good. If you ligtly squeeze them, they will let go. Make sure you check EVERYWHERE for ticks because if you leave them there, they drink up your blood and get really bloated and gross looking. But don't worry, I go camping almost twice every month and ticks are nothing to fear. Just wear long pants if your going through grass and don't play in the bushes.
