how to get rid of the desire to be in a band?

i can't get rid of the desire to be in a band, the idea of playing music for a living is just awesome, but i know i'll never be able to, im totally average and only play the piano, and can't even create a decent song, does anyone know how to get rid of the thought and stuff so i won't want to be in a band anymore??
