We live downwind from a large field of watermelons. As they are harvesting, they are leaving the rotten and unripened melons behind to waste.
The melons are now infested with flies. They feast and reproduce during the day. As the temperature cools each evening, they invade our community and camp out for the evening. Right now there are literally hundreds, probably 1000+, flys on the front of my house. Their on my front door, windows, screen, stucco, etc. The gross part is that they are leaving hundreds of poop droppings or something all over everything.
Besides complaining to the City and Vector Control... what can I do to minimize the number of flies that want to visit my house?
