How to get pictures off my krzr cell phone?

I have a USB cable but when I use it nothing happens and it doesn't show up that my cell phone is plugged into the computer.

I could e-mail the pictures from my phone but I don't know how. Could you please explain how to?

Or is there another way to get the pictures off?

PS I don't have a memory card in there or a phone manual and I DO NOT want to delete the pictures
