I work on my pushups at least twice a week and can't seem to do more than 87 in two minutes for the life of me. I'm wondering what I can do to get beyond this plateau.
Basically what I do is do one set where I do a maximum amount of repititions (87), followed by a set of 15-reps of bench press, followed by another set of push-ups with about a 45 second rest between each of these sets.
Than I repeat this circuit 5-6 times.
I find that after I do my maximum I have alot of difficulty doing more than 10 to 15 pushups on the next set if I'm only resting 45 seconds. Should I take longer rest periods? Should I do more of a pyramid routine?
Basically any suggestions would be most greatly appreciated. For starters I'm looking to get beyond 100 pushups in 2-minutes if at all possible.
Thanks
