How to get off a bicycle with the seat set the correct way i.e. not low enough to

flatfoot.? Having the seat set the right way means my legs can extend all the way while on the seat, but this makes it really hard to get off smoothly when I want to stop.
 
Your saddle is set too high! You should not be able to "flatfoot" when it is set correctly and your sitting on the saddle. You should be able to put the toe of your shoe on the ground when sitting on the saddle when the height is set correctly. Have a look at this site: http://www.coloradocyclist.com/bikefit#saddleheight
