2 years ago, I pulled my credit report and there were 2 judgements on it, and both of them have already been paid in full the year before, so I submitted a dispute with TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax and got letters telling me that the information was verified and that they would be removed from my credit report. Anyway, I pulled my report again, and on TransUnion one of them was marked "Judgement Paid on _____________) Judgement dismissed. The other judgement was still open, so I sent anothere dispute, and won again, and now it is STILL on there!
Equifax was the same story, and even after over a year they are STILL showing up on my credit report. So I submitted another dispute won that also and they are still there on my report
Experian had one gone, and it was the one that TransUnion still showed as being in force. I submitted a dispute on this also!
It has been almost 2 years, and each report still has the same error on it, and I still have the letters sent too me that say that "This item will be removed." Is there any legal action I can take to have them fix this for good??
I was able to get a car loan by bringing the letters into a reputable dealership and even got 5.1% on a used car with 3% down. Yet 2 weeks later I applied for a Guitar Center credit card, and got rejected because of "Public Judgment FIled." This led to me getting another credit report from Equifax with the judgment that they were supposed to remove 2 years ago on it, and the letter that they sent me last year telling me that it would be removed.
I just pulled my credit reports and guess what? They are still all wrong!
There has to be some agency with the power to fix this! But where??
