hey!
im 13, 5' 6'' and 126lbs. Im a ballet dancer so thats really what has been stopping me being over weight in the past. (cause im not fit, AT ALL) I've just started first year and we have to play hockey. theres only 18 girls in the year so we are all needed for the team XL. the minor team (2nd + 3rd years) only have about 13 so some of us play for them also. About a week ago i played my second match with them and i was left back. (my favourate position) but i was also replacing a girl called laura who was so good she got moved up to the junior team! (3rd + 4th years! and shes only in 2nd year!) so you can imagine, very big shoes to fill. we drew 1-1 and everyone was so happy cause the girls we were playing we extreamly good. all our hockey coaches said I played amazingly and my name was announced in collect (accembaly) the next day! Im really enjoying hockey now but i've only been playing for about 4 months. do you have any tips on how to improve my game in deffence? (i also play either centre back or sweeper with my own team) and secondly, how can i improve my fitness? i do a lot of sport already but i'd like to know what i can do to be able to run faster and long. this is what i do every week
monday: ballet 2 hours
tuesday: hockey 2 hours (2 sessions)
wednesday: 40 minute hockey match (+ 20 minute warm up)
thursday: 1 hour P.E (e.g basketball, badmenten, track, athletics, hockey)
friday: hockey 1 hour.
on saturday and sunday i just practise ballet and pointe work but i am starting to go for a short jog/run. will this help? do you have any suggestions?
thanks lads XD
