how to get an unlocked phone to send pictures?

I have the samsung gravity (t459), my carrier is AT&T, whenever I try to send a picture message it says "unknown subscriber," does anyone know how I can get it to work and bypass their settings? Thank you
too bad im not sexting and if your gonna be rude you shouldn't even bother putting your answer on here.
