How to get a prepaid Sidekick?

I am planing on getting a sidekick lx or 2008 but i hate having to pay every month. I try asking my friends but they only tell me not to get one from a t-mobile store. So can anybody tell me the steps on getting a prepaid sidekick.

No stupid answers please thanks
