well, i bought a 2000 kawasaki kdx 220 for $500. what i did was go around and let people know what i was looking for and my price range and asked them to keep a lookout for me. eventually, the place where i got my loan called me and said they had one and asked me to stop and look at it. depending on certain things, you may get a good deal. with you being 6 inches shorter than me i would get a 125cc or 200cc. sometimes you will find bikes that are cheap and need a little tlc to get them to run.
