How to get a car title signed over to you?

I'm in a really bad situation right now that I'd rather not explain. Long story short, I need to find a way to get my dad to sign the car over to me. He gave me the car 2 years ago and has never used it since then. The car is paid off and all I have to worry about is insurance.

So, please I need some ideas on how to do it. Please! I'm in an urgent situation. And no, I can't just ask him to sign it over.

I was thinking of finding maybe a grant for off-campus students? Maybe I'd need a car in my name?
