I've recently been given a subaru legacy 1992 by a friend who is overseas, and am looking to get it back on the road. He hasn't driven it for 9 years, and it has been under a cover in a carport the whole time. The engine appears to be in good condition, but was tried to start a few years ago and couldn't get it too.

Any ideas what all it will need? I've got a new battery, but will I need to take the injectors off and put some oil in the cylinders? Any tips? Thanks!

I am not a mechanic so cannot give you cast iron information. However if it has not been used in such a long time, I would guess that most fluid would have experienced some changes and need changing especially the brake fluids. You might also find that some of the seals will be leaking as well. You should lift the car to inspect underneath. As for the engine, I would have a few friends help you push it for a short distance in a high gear to ease the pistons in the cylinders before you try to fire it up from the starter.
You may have valves sticking as well as injectors.
