how to format a nokia 5310 if i've forgotten the lock code,or how to reset the lock

code if i forot it? i have a nokia 5310 n i forgot its lock code,my fone started giving some problems and i want to reset it.......
does the master reset (pressing "3" "call" "*" key n switching on) works on my fone???
pls sum1 help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
