How to fix my car stereo?

its a kenwood face plate thingy and im trying to figure out how to fix it cuz it keeps saying protect [found someone says i have to unplug its battery and the speaker wire] and i took a gander at the wires to find that i hav no clue wat im doin..... can any1 tell me how to do that or know how to reboot it in la-men terms?
 
take the face plate off and there should be a reset button. what you need to do about the wiring is go to radio shack and get the plug-ins then all you do is hook the colors together, tape them up and plug them into your factory wiring.
 
Look for a reset button behind face plate. Otherwise you have to remove stereo and unplug it for a couple minutes. Might get by with pulling fuse for it, wait a couple minutes and reinstall.
 
As you said you have no clue of what you doing, so just forget about fixing it,...get rid of it, and buy new one,..let`s get this economy moving dude...
